Joseph Cada's Quick Climb to Success

Joseph Cada is a resident of Shelby Township, Michigan (population: 71,000). From this middle-America town, Cada learned to become one of the greats of the game by playing online. Even before the 2009 Main Event, Cada had earned more than half a million dollars in WSOP payoffs, but he went for the biggest payday in sporting history when he sat down at the final table.

Joe Cada Biography

Like many professional poker players, Cada began his education of the game at a young age. A graduate of Utica High (2006), he attended business and accounting classes at Macomb Community College for two semesters before he decided to try his hand at professional poker. He'd found enough success online to make the decision to really give the game a try. He's been studying the game and playing poker for about six years.

Online Poker with Cada

Joseph Cada began playing (illegally) at Party Poker when he was only 15. His first few big wins resulted in a bankroll of $250, which he later lost on a few ill-fated hands. Cada honed his skills online before taking his game to the real world. The thrill of real tables eventually helped him make the decision to spend the bulk of his time playing poker, a decision which eventually paid off when he became the 2009 world champion.

At the World Series

The youngest player ever to win the World Series of Poker, Joseph Cada earned the grand prize of $8.5 million, a staggering amount for any poker player.
