Wow - You Are Ruining the Game

wow i just read an article of yours that said you'd rather play with 6,7 than pocket ace's.....i can't believe you would tell the american public that, unless you are trying to in fact make them worse at poker so you can rape them.

Top 3 Beginner Rooms

if that is the case, then nice work. it's work like this that make people believe calling a big bet pre-flop is ok with 6-7......you are infact ruining the game because when you say what you said that ambigiously you are making people worse at poker and ruining how the game is meant to be played.

i know what you mean by saying you would rather play 67 but anyone reading how to play poker wouldn't understand and will make horrible calls and cost them a lot of money and give a lot of people headaches when they call with 67 assuming it is better than pocket aces.

Answer:

Hi Ron,

We have over 1,000 articles on our site so it is hard for me to know exactly which one you are referring to. But I assume it is this one.

What is discussed here is that a hand like 67s is easier to play than pocket aces in some situations (in reference to limit holdem). AA on the button with several limpers is a trouble hand. A raise won't get anyone out of the pot and the chance for AA to hold up without improvement is not that big. On the other hand with a hand like 67s in this situation, you know exactly where you stand and it is easy to get away from when you miss. But I am not saying that 67s is better, just easier to play in certain situations.

No limit is a different story; AA is a hand that likes few opponents. If I am on the button with AA and several limpers I can always put in a large raise to limit the field (which is not the case in limit holdem). But as Doyle Brunson says: "With pocket aces you will usually win small pots and loose large ones." The reason for this is that many players have a hard time getting away from their aces when they are up against dominating hands like sets.

I don't believe that this text will make people start playing 67s recklessly - nothing in the text tells them to. The aim of our site is always to educate players and give them a better understanding of the game of Texas holdem.

Clark

Response:

thank you very much that was a great response, although i am not going to take the time to re-read the original article i see our difference and the miscommunication that occurred.

you were in fact talking about how you play the 67 and that it is easier and i understand that now. when i read your article i must have assumed you were saying that 67 is a better hand. it is much easier to play 67 than pocket aces, much much easier.

thanks for the response too by the way. sorry if i was upset when i wrote you, a great answer.
thanks,
Ron
