Which tactic should I use, shorthanded or fulltable?

Question: With respect to short table v.s. full table in on-line games, 5/10 blinds. If your on the cusp between the two, say 6 or 7 players and two or three fold in front of you pre-flop, would it be prudent to switch your play from full table strategy to short table strategy or continue your play based on full table concepts?

I tend to lean toward sticking with my full table game at these times, but occasionally switch to short table strategy when my starting hand has a face card (i'll consider playing any starting hand with a face card).

Because how you write, your question isn't easy to understand. But if there are a maximum of six players at the table then you are playing shorthanded, and if there are at least seven players then you are playing at a "full" table. Your tactis should be thereafter. And when there are many players at the table you should I think the best would be continue to think of it as a full table even if a few players has folded in front of you. Because the more players at a table, the chanses for someone sitting after you, has picked up a good hand is going up. Then again, its nothing wrong with mixing up your game but then you shouldn't do it just when you have one face card but also when you have connectors, i.e. the value of your hand isn't as important as the moment you choose to make your move.

By the way, if we would be talking about tournaments you should strive to steal the blinds when you are at cut off and everyone has folded to you.
