Two bad beats happened in home game

I'd like to share a few bad beat stories that happened on back to back hands. Thankfully this happened in a home game, so at least I was giving up the money to a friend who felt so bad he bought me beer all weekend for it.

We were playing a small $40 buy-in cash game with $0.50/$1 blinds. First hand we were both at around $50. He had me slightly covered. I was small blind and he was button. I had 8h-7h. Everyone folded around to him. He raised to $3. He likes to steal from late position in unraised pots so I decided to call and see a flop. BB also called. Flop comes 6h-5h-Ah. I can't believe my good luck. I bet $8. BB calls.  Button raises to $20. I go all-in wanting to prevent him from catching a higher flush, BB folds and he calls. He turns over A-K (no hearts) I'm delighted to see he has just TPTK. Turn A and river K and I'm broke. It turns out the BB had folded A-J so one of his outs was gone too.

I buy back in for $40 more and very next hand with me now on the button I get J-J. A couple limpers and he raises to $4. I call and blinds and limpers fold.  Flop comes Js-5s-5h. He bets $10. I decide to slow play my monster and just call.  Turn is 10s.  He checks. I go all-in for my last $26 and he insta-calls. Turns over As-Qs. Of course the river comes Ks for a royal flush.
