Staring at the screen in disbelief

This hand is almost not believable, even if you were to witness it happening. I literally had to sit and stare at the "last hand" window on FTP for a good couple minutes to realize what had just happened.

I was in a small stakes tourney ($10 +1) about 8 months ago, and it was about 15 minutes into it. The blinds were at 20/40. After seeing how some of the people at the table had been playing, I realized I was one of the tighter players. The hand started with a raise from the guy under the gun pre-flop.

It folded around to me. I had wired 3's. He had me covered, but the raise was only 3 times the BB. I was in position on the button, so it was an easy call. SB and BB folded. So I'm heads up with what seemed to me like a fairly loose player. The flop comes 8 3 8. I flopped an absolute monster. The pot at this point was 300. He checks to me. Knowing that he would most likely come over the top if I bet, thinking I would try to steal it, I put in 100.

Just as I had planned, he came over the top. But it wasn't simply over the top. He pushed all-in. It was a dream hand. I gladly called and his hand was shown: Ah Jc. For him to win he had to catch runner-runner A's, J's......... or 8's. He had approximately a 1-2% chance of winning.

As I stared at the screen waiting to rake the pot, an 8 came on the turn........ then the case 8 on the river. I don't think I'll ever witness another hand like this as long as I live.

Luckily, it was only $11.

You can't wish for much more in poker than to be able to go all-in with a hand like that.
Truly a bad beat.
