Showing cards in all-in situations?
Question:
My question is based either on both a home game or tournament play. Two players go all in pre-flop - should both players reveal their cards face up?

I thought poker etiquette would be yes, but I was wondering if there are any rules pertaining to this?
Thanks for your help.

Answer:
Hi Alan
The standard rule is to show the cards in tournaments, and not in cash games. The rule to show the cards face up in tournaments was introduced to prevent players from colluding. In cash games though, the players that are all in can decide whether they want to show their cards or not. I always like to show my cards in cash games too, as it makes the game more dramatic.
