Three Way Action With All-Ins

Question: In a game with three way action the smallest stack goes all in followed by the a call from a player with a larger stack and the third player also calls and has the middle stack. The two largest stacks have the exact same hand and split the pot obviously but how are the chips divied up?

Answer: What happens is as follows:

Player A - 100 chips

Player B - 200 chips

Player C - 300 chips

Player A goes all-in for 100 chips - the current bet is 100 chips

Player C now calls for 100 chips - the current bet is still 100 chips -- Player C can call or raise -- he only calls

Player B calls for 100 chips - the current bet is still 100 chips -- Player B can call or raise -- he only calls

Note how the bet size remains the same: 100 chips. If Player C wanted to rereaise he could and force Player B to go all-in if he wanted to call but Player C didn't. Player B also has the option to raise, but he didn't. The pot is 300 chips total and is split evenly between Player C and Player B. If there were any bets over the 100 chips that Player A went all-in for, then there would be a side pot.
