Question: One more thing. I was wondering what you would recommend for study materials, such as books, DVDs and such. thanks

Answer: That's a tough question. My philosophy is to purchase everything I can about poker. I have just about every poker book published since any new perspective on the game is worth the cost of the book. With that said, it is really hard for me to think about any books I would say go out and buy -- especially for tournament play.

Two books I've really liked have been "Middle Limit Holdem Poker" by Bob Ciaffone and Jim Brier and then "Holdem Poker For Advanced Players" by Sklansky. I'm not sure how much those would apply to your games but you may want to pick them up anyway. Good books on tournaments are hard to find. I'm not particularly interested in all their stories from the road (which many of the books have too much of). I just want to read about strategy. You can go pick up Phil Hellmuth's new book or T.J. Cloutier's book on tournament play but I'm not sure how much those will apply to your games.

There is a big difference between large scale WSOP and WPT tournaments and online/home games. Sorry I couldn't be more of a help. If you do buy a book, you can check out the chapters on amazon.com to see how much of it is actually strategy and how much is just their life's story. Then you can purchase it from overstock.com at prices lower then amazon.
