Raise Before Cards Are Dealt
Question: Hello,
In a no limit holdem game, can the person who is posting the big blind raise before cards are even dealt? In a regular game I play in, some of the guys that are just have a few chips left over what the big blind post is will just put all of their chips in before cards are dealt. I didnt think they could do so because they, as the big blind are forced to place a specific bet until called or otherwise.
thanks

Answer: Technically no, the players aren't allowed to just put all their money in preflop before the cards are dealt. Regardless of whether or not it is within the rules, the end result will be the same if they want to go all-in but they should respect the other players left in the game. When you act out of turn, it gives information to the other players in the hand. They are allowed to put their chips all-in whenever it is their turn, but not before.
