Posting When Changing Tables In Tourney
NL tourney....When you are moved from one table to another, I understand that you cannot play small blind or play when you sit in on the button.
However, how does it work after you sit out hand on the small blind and then deal moves to player on your left. Do you get dealt in or do you have to sit out another hand? Our tourneys do not make you pay the big blind when you are moved to another table.
Thanks for your great site....

Answer: You don't have to post a blind (like a missed blind) when you switch tables. At a regular casino, players don't have to post blinds when they first sit in like they do online. So for example if you sit down at a regular casino and are a new holdem player you just get dealt in (this includes tourneys). You have the option to be dealt in immediately or "come in behind" which means waiting until the dealer button passes before you are dealt in.
In either case you don't have to post a blind. That part isn't true in tourneys though, you have to come right in if possible. Online cardrooms force you to post regardless if you are a new player or not and I think that is because they don't like people moving around from one table to the next to dodge having to pay blinds. So in your own tourney games if you just move from one table to another then you just start right in as long as you aren't in between the blinds. If you are sitting down in between them, then you wait until the button passes over you before you are dealt in.
