Poker Site Recommendation For New Player

Question: I have been playing poker for almost a year and i feel like i am ready to play in some real money internet websites. From reading your site, which is great might i add, i see that you play a good amount of internet poker. What sites do you recommend to play in. i ask this because i have heard things about nonsecure sites and people being able to steal credit card numbers and the like. Being far from any casinos i am very anxious to start and was looking for a good website to play in. Also, which sites have players that have done poker research or players you would label "experirnced" players. I have found in my home games and on play money tables i play extremly bad to people with little knowledge in poker. Thanks in advance and keep up the great site.

Answer: Hi Evan, thanks for the question. I try not to specifically endorse any sites. I think you would do well with just about any of them. I say that because I don't know anything really about who runs them or how they are run. I just play at various sites and they all seem to be about the same. If you are just starting out then maybe you'll want to find one that has a lot of smaller limits.

One area that the sites do differ in is the amount of tables they have. That can cut both ways. Some people prefer playing against new players everyday while others would prefer to play against the same ones over and over. As for the level of experience that you'll encounter, it is my guess that they will all be fairly similar -- you'll have some new players at the lower limits and as you progress to higher ones the competition will get tougher. If I were you I would try a few right off the bat and then see which one you feel most comfortable with.
