Acting Out of Turn
Question:
Hi
My question is on betting out of turn. I did read the post on this issue, but this is a rather unique question.
The hand had 4 players after the flop, players A, B, C, and D. Player A was first to act. Player B bet out of turn and verbally declared himself all in and move his chips into the pot. Then Player A, who was skipped, immediately declared himself all in and moved his chips into the pot.
Now we have two players who acted out of turn, because I believe that the action should have been to player C with players' A hand being forced to "check".
We ruled the following:
- Player B acted out of turn.
- That there was action after his bet even though player A now acted out of turn.
- Players' B bet was binding because of the action of player A.
- Then Players C and D were now allowed to play their hand.
What would a ruling on this situation be?
Thanks,
Tim

Answer:
Hi Tim,
Player B acts out of turn, but I do not agree with you that player A did. I would rule it like this: B:s all in is binding regardless of how the other players act. But when player B has acted out of turn I believe that the action should be back to player A, who was skipped. So I do not think that A did anything wrong. After A has acted (as he should) the action is now to player C and then D. So if I understand you correctly I believe that your ruling was correct.
