Question:THE OTHER NIGHT IN A NO LIMIT GAME ONE SPOUSE GOT SICK DURING THE NIGHT AND WANTED HER HUSBAND TO PLAY FOR HER HE WAS AREADY OUT WHAT ARE THE RULES ON THAT ,ANY GUIDE LINES ON THAT .THANKS FOR THE HELP.

Answer: In home games people can make the rules however they like but that wouldn't fly in a casino. It is one person per hand. In a casino, you aren't even allowed to move chips from one person to another. You can give them cash, but not your chips. So if your buddy sat down you can't just give him half your stack.

Letting someone play for you clearly isn't fair no matter which way you cut it. They are either better then you or worse then you so it's either unfair to everyone else who is playing or it is unfair to the player sitting out. So at a regular casino or cardroom, it isn't allowed. If it was my home game I would ask the remaining players if they minded and if they did he couldn't sub but if they didn't then fine.
