Idea For Home Tournaments
I quickly want to say how much I appreciate your site. It is more than awsome!!!
My question is:
We are a few friends and we want to play holdem this weekend. Our goal is to have fun and play for the entire evening ( 5-6 hours) We don't want to put in a lot of money so 40$ is the maximum each player wants to put in.

I had an idea that may solve this little problem and make the game a little more exciting. 4 tournaments of 10$ each. We would give each player about 800$ of chips per tournament.
That way, a player can play more aggressively and know that if he looses all his chips, he will still play another tournament later on.
What do you think of this idea ?
Thanks a lot and once again, great site!

Answer: Yes, I like that idea. It goes along with the concept of not over extending your bankroll -- play in games where you can lose some and still be able to continue at that same level. Four smaller tournaments instead of one big one would give everyone more breathing room. And you have to use the all-in sometimes, it's a key offensive and defensive move. You don't want to play games so large that you are afraid to put all your chips in. If that is the case then your judgment and play will be hurt.
