Question: How can I be sure that when I play online for real money, that the game is honest?

Answer: You can't. There is no regulation for the sites, they are all out of the US and there is no way to know for certain if they are fair. With that said though, competition is getting fierce online and there is a lot of money to be made by running a legit site that doesn't screw people. Online poker is great because its convenience -- it's the future of poker.

What I would recommend is to start slow and let a site earn your trust. A lot of sites now have micro limits so even if they did screw you it would cost you the same as going out and having a few drinks with your buddies. You really don't have to risk much to play for real money. Just don't confuse losing with being cheated.
