Funny Flame Email

Question: Send questions about texas holdem poker to this email address: webmaster@learn-texas-holdem.com Subject - "Holdem Question or Comment" Then in a couple days it will appear online below.

Bullshit - you suck...picking and choosing the questions you answer and ignoring questions that you apparently don't have the balls to address one way or the other. Why the fuck should we listen to your advice at all? Who the fuck are you?

Too bad, I actually thought you had a decent site, shame you have no sack - don't bother replying, I'll get advice elsewhere

Answer: LOL Another happy reader? It's funny to me that even on a free site you can still get flame email. Here is one from someone who I didn't apparently get back to in time. After looking at my folder in outlook for his email address, here are his other two emails:

Hi,

I sent the below question a while ago, and noticed there was no response?

The reason I asked the question at all is because I saw this in a book "Winners Guide to Texas Hold'em Poker" by Ken Warren and it seemed reasonable, also I've been unable to find any rule anyplace that forbids showing a card at the showdown to entice your opponent to call your bet.

I just need to know if this is allowed, dis-allowed or simply considered bad form.

Thanks

Subject: revealing one card?

Hi,

Recently I was playing no-limit holdem with some friends, and the following situation came up. Three players remained in the game, at the turn one player went all in. Thus leaving two live hands, (My wife and I) I already had a full house at this point and was trying to get my opponent (my wife) to call my bet. the river card had not yet been dealt. I showed one of my cards to everyone at the table. The question is : is this valid or does this violate a rule of the game or is this just bad etiquette?

It seems that since we were in a "showdown" type situation, and there were no other live hands in the game. I would not be adversely effecting anyone else's play by revealing one of my hole cards.

Thanks in advance,

Chris

You are right Chris, I didn't answer your email. I try to avoid answering the same questions over and over, since that has little use for the people who read all the questions here. I pick the ones I think are most relevant and useful and go from there. If I see the same question asked repeatedly, sometimes I'll answer it again, but usually not.

Your email cracks me up though, so thanks for that! I hadn't laughed yet today. Though, I would suggest you take a more rational approach to cards than you did with this situation, or you might have a little trouble. =)
