Folding In All-in Pots

Answer:
The rule for situations like this is: If you fold, you are out of the pot -- regardless of whether not there are side pots or not.
Example:
Bill, Jon, Ray.
Preflop:
Bill goes all-in for $100.
Jon calls.
Ray calls.
Turn:
Jon goes all-in for $200
Ray now think and decides to fold.
Ray is now out of all pots. Jon takes down the side pot and then the main pot is between Jon and Bill.
This is something that every player should know well because it affects how you play some hands, especially no limit holdem tournament hands. For example, you may figure that if you can get the third player left in the hand to fold, you can beat the all-in player. Or another example would be the other way around, where you think the all-in player may have your hand beat, but you can still make some money back from the side pot with the remaining active players. Or yet another example is when you know for a fact that your hand isn't good and you try to limit the betting after the percieved winning hand went all-in.
There are a lot of questions about side pots, main pots, and all-ins on this site so check the question archive.
