Player Not In Hand Reveals Hand

Question: So heres the situation that I despretly need help on.

I was playing with a 4 friends and 2 players dropped out, and me and this kid were betting through and made it to the river. He bet first putting in a dollar and I had already put in 2 50 (we were playing 5 dollar buy in) so if I bet I would be left with 60 cents. This is where to problem comes in, someone who had folded looked at my cards (with permission) and revealed that I had an Ace, clearly revealing that I had at least a pair. Now I need to know if this was a misdeal, or what should happen. I had 2 pair, My opponent had trip threes. I eventually called a misdeal because my opponent knew that he had me beat, and I couldnt have bluffed. So my question is what happens if a player who is not in, reveals someone elses hand?

Answer: No, this wouldn't be a misdeal. It is your responsibility to protect your cards. The fault lies with you, since you were the one who showed the cards to the other player at the table. If any penalties were dealt out (like killing a hand), it would fall on your cards, not the other guy's.

See, look at it from this perspective too, what if the person whom you showed your cards to told you something like, "Hey, call man! You have him beat, he's bluffing!" And you did call and win. That would clearly be against the rules since one of the rules says you can only have one player per hand. You can't share information about a hand in progress, regardless of whether the information shared helps you, helps the opponent, is correct, or off. You shouldn't have shown him your cards to begin with.
