Comparing Flushes
Question:
No limit Texas Hold'em
Board cards are Ad-7d-5d-4d-2d
Player one hole cards are Qd-6s
Player teo hole cards are Jd-9h
Is this pot split because both players have an Ace high flush, or does the player with the Qd win because it is higher than the Jd?
It seems logical the Qd would win but we have different opinions.
Thanks

Answer: You are correct, the Qd wins because it is higher. This seems a little counterintuitive since like you mentioned, they both have an Ace high flush. This doesn't make much sense to me either but it's just the way things are. It follows the rule, "the bet five cards win." That is the only rule in holdem for hand evaluation seems a little weird, the rest is all consistent.
