Books on Poker Theory
Hi,
You have the best website ever. I came across it yesterday and I can't get away from it.I have a question please. Could you suggest a good book on theory of poker that is heavy on math and applies to today's poker if possible? I read only few books so far and there just seems to be too much fluff.
I will greatly appreciate your answer. Best regards, VojTop 3 Beginner Rooms
Hi Voj,
I definitely agree with you many poker books contain a lot of "fluff". If you want to read something substantial and theoretic about poker, which also applies the math to this exciting game I would definitely recommend David Sklansky's "The Theory of Poker". This book is of many considered the most complete book on the subject and goes through all the important factors of the game. Another book which I can really recommend is the poker bible, Doyle Brunson's "Super System", any serious no-limit player should read the excellent chapter on no-limit holdem. The one you should get is "Super System II", which is an updated version of the original book.
Good Luck with your game!Your rating:
