Blinds When Someone Busts Out - p2
Question: A great site! Very informative. In your explanation regarding movement of the blinds when a player busts out, the procedure forthe big blind going out is to have a small blind on the button followed by two big blinds in the next hand, then a small blind on the button with a normal smalland big blind on the hand after that. In the first hand after the bust out, doesn't this cause the player getting the button to have to post two small blinds in a row?
The new dealer was the small blind on the hand that the big blind busted out, right?
Thanks,
John

Answer: Right that is correct: small big big, then small small big, then back to normal. With this method one person has to pay an extra small blind. That is only one way of doing it though, the important thing is just to lay out the rules in advance so everyone is aware of them before the games begin. Another option in this scenario would be to just have the next hand continue so the player misses his big blind. Or you could even do: big big, small small big, then back to normal. I don't think it matters what way you choose as long as you are consistent. Whatever you end up going with, it is going to be weird for a couple hands.
