Ace Counting As High And Low

Question: Ok me and sum of my friends got into an argument over this one. One of my friends had a King and an Ace and on the flop ther was a 1 2 and 3. He says that counts as a straight because it loops and I say that it doesnt. Which is it?

Answer: An Ace can count as both a high or a low, but not both at the same time. For example, you can have "the wheel" which is the lowest possible straight: A-2-3-4-5. You can also have the highest straight: A-K-Q-J-T You can't have both though like you mention. It doesn't loop around.
