Loosing both pots against quads and a full house
I was playing a 3$ tournament at Pokerstars and was doing pretty good. Had an above average chip stack after playing about 2 hours. All players started with 2000 and I was up to 10000.

So I found myself on the button with Ah Kd, blinds were 100/200, two players had called and one player in middle position raised to 3600(he had me covered). I thought for a moment and called. Everyone folded except one player before the big raise. He called and went all in.
Flop came Jc 2c Qh, The big raiser made a small raise of 600. I raised to 1500 hoping he had missed the flop. He called. The turn was 10d giving me the nut straight. He checked and I went all in. I was absolutely sure I had the nuts at this point. He called. The cards were revelead - The big raiser had pocket queens.(QcQd) The short stacked guy had pocket 10-s(10s10c). I was delighted, both players had made trips. I was an 81% favourite and the pot was huge.
The river? 10h. Giving one player the absolute nuts with four 10-s and the other player a full house, Queens full of tens. The all in guy took the main pot, the big raiser took a big side pot and I was left broke and out of the tourney.
Obviously I couldn't have made any difference in the outcome other then folding at the big raise. Which would have been extremely difficult with AK.
But should I have went all in preflop? Or raised more on the flop?
I had great luck all tourney winning nice pots, but the one time I got bad luck, it had to be when I happened to go all in with a hand I couldn't let go.

Hi Holger,
Thanks for an entertaining story. I don't think you could have played the hand that much different after the flop. If you raised more on the flop you would either have ended up all-in or been forced to fold against an opponent that had flopped the nuts. You could have gone all-in pre-flop and taken a coin-flip against the pocket queens instead of committing a third of your stack and risk missing the flop, but that's a matter of opinion and depends on your read of the situation.
