Kings four of a kind, ace high

This happened on FullTilt poker during a tournament.

The table was pretty aggressive, with PillaginPete and GOBLAZERS777 raising pre-flop every other hand. Pete had the chip lead and I had the second most, about 1200 less than his 9300. Pete was in big blind when I get dealt 99 two behind the button. Two people call, one folds and I raise to 5x BB (500). SB folds and Pete, in BB pops it to 1500. Everyone folds around to me and it's heads up, I call. The flop comes KK9 and I'm hoping to god he has AK. He checks and I bet 2000. He min raises to 4000 and I push all in, he insta calls. He has A 10.

Kings four of a kind, ace high

This is pretty much the worst beat that has ever happened to me in poker. I was shocked he put his chip lead at risk on a bluff. I can think of a million others, but in comparison to this, none really come close. It's one thing if he turn rivered aces, but quad kings really hurt. Should I have been more aggressive given the blinds and our chipstacks?
