How do people handle one-pair hands in high-stakes games?

Question: (this is the third in a series of questions)

In 6-handed high-stakes online games, how often does a call in position slow down a lead bettor, one way or the other, post-flop (slowing down doesn't mean they're necessarily done with the hand)?

Do players expect to be bluffed against more? How common are big pots with weak hands (I basically mean one pair hands) where players are reading the board texture and proceed to either aggress or refuse to not be aggressed?

Is check-raising the turn without a super strong hand common? This is important cause the turn is the most crucial street and it's insanely tough to play one pair hands if you can't trust your opponent here. And not just after getting re-raised but also before when you're making a decision on whether to bet or not.

Answer:

People tend to push their hands harder the higher you play. They trust their read more, and this could mean that the pot gets pretty big with only one pair if a player thinks he has the better kicker. At lower limits the betting usually stops at the river if no one has more than one pair.

The turn is the key point in the hand. It's pretty rare for people to check-raise with less than two-pair, but as usual it all depends on the player. It's important to keep betting, however, and not let yourself get scared of a possible raise. If you feel that things are not going your way you can sometimes play top pair slower. This will also make your game less predictable.
