Hi Julie,
The simplest way to explain this is that you always use five cards to create your hand in Texas Hold'em (and most other poker games). And all the cards count, all the way down to the fifth card.
Let's take a look at your examples:
Hand 1:
Player one has AKQJ7 and player two has AKQJ6. Player one wins.
Hand 2:
Player one has AKQJT and player two has AKQJT. Both players have an ace-high straight and it's a split pot.
Hand 3:
Player one has JJKQ7 and player two has JJKQ6. Player one wins.
Hand 4:
Player one has JJKQT and player two has JJKQT. Split pot.
Hand 5:
Player one has JJKQA and player two has JJKQA. Split pot.
Hand 6:
Player one has JJ77A and player two has JJ66A. Player one wins with a higher two-pair.
As you can see, you analyzed all the boards correctly. Now all you have to do is convince your friends.
