How to Play Caribbean Stud
To play Caribbean stud, all you need to do is put up a bet in the ante circle. When you do, you'll get a five card poker hand, as will the dealer. One of his cards will be exposed.
If you think your hand will beat the dealer's, it's time to raise by putting up a double bet in the raise circle. If you think your hand will lose, fold and abandon your ante bet.
If you raise, the dealer must qualify by having a hand of ace king high or better. If he does not qualify, you win 1-to-1 on the ante bet and tie on the raise bet. If he qualifies, the best hand wins.
If the dealer wins, the player loses both bets. If the player wins, he wins 1-to-1 on the ante bet and odds on the raise bet, as shown below.
Payouts on the Raise Bet
If you win with two pair, you get 2-to-1 on your raise bet. Win with trips and it's 3-to-1. Take the hand with a straight and you guessed it, you get a payoff at 4-to-1 and 5-to-1 for a flush.
If you win with a full house, your odds jump to 7-to-1. With four of a kind, it leaps to 20-to-1 and with a straight flush it skyrockets to 50-to-1. Finally, the big score, the royal flush, pays off at 100-to-1.
Progressive Bet in Caribbean Stud
You will also have the option to make a one dollar side bet in Caribbean Stud. This bet pays whenever you are dealt a flush or better, regardless of the outcome on the hand. While the odds are not great for you, a royal flush with the side bet on will win you everything in the progressive jackpot pool, which can be hundreds of thousands of dollars.
