Favorite Texas Hold'em Hands of Famous Players

Many online poker sites are sponsored by famous players. The most players are sponsored by FullTiltPoker, who sponsor players like Howard Lederer, Mike Matusow, Allen Cunningham and many more. However, well-known players are also sponsored by PokerStars, UltimateBet and others. If you're playing on one of these sites, it may be useful to know the favorite hands of some of your opponents in case you encounter them at the tables.

The most visible player connected to UltimateBet is Phil Hellmuth, who is the all-time no-limit Texas hold'em tournament champion, having won 11 WSOP bracelets including the main event. His favorite hand is 99, especially black nines, since this is the hand he won the World Series of Poker with.

DoylesRoom

The most famous hand associated with Doyle Brunson is the T2. Doyle won the main event of the World Series of Poker with this hand not once, but twice! While Doyle is rumored to have played the hand frequently back in the day, at this point he has lost so much money with it that he has allegedly sworn off the hand. Still, you never know when he might pick it up again.

PokerStars

Daniel Negreanu is famous for playing the T7 as his offbeat hand of choice. It's not clear why he is so fond of this hand, only that he is inordinately confident when he holds this two-card combination and enters a pot.

FullTiltPoker

There are so many famous players affiliated with FullTilt it probably doesn't make sense to try to pin one down. However, Phil Ivey is famously afraid of AQ, so if the flop comes down AAQ and you're heads up with Phil, you may want to go ahead and try for the steal.
