Dear sir First let me say your site is one of the best sites for a beginner poker player. My question is I was playin a NL$5.0 sng blinds were 10/20 I was dealt jj in early position.

I raised 80 person to my left called and person on button reraised to 140 I called person on my left called flop was AA9 i checked person to left raised 100 button called i folded turn was j river was 6 person to left had 77 button 1010 was i wrong to fold also it was only 2nd hand of tourney I did finish in money.

Hi Dan,

I am glad that you like the site. With your raise pre-flop in early position, followed by a re-raise and three players seeing the flop, the chance that someone has an ace is pretty high. It decreases slightly with two aces on the board, but I still think a fold here, with a bet a call, is the right decision in most cases. (Obviously not given the outcome in this particular situation, but I think it is a winning play in the long run.)

These is no point risking too many chips early in a sit 'n go with marginal hands. I am glad to hear that you finished in the money.
