Can You Hide your Chips in Poker?
Question:
I play friendly games at home with some friends and we played recently and there was 3 of us left in it and 1 of the other players had someone else helping him. The person who was helping but not playing was keeping half of the person who was playings chips out of view underneath the table. Is this legal?? We decided it wasn't.
Thanks

Answer:
Hi
You're absolutely right! Any attempt of hiding chips is against the rules, or at least against good poker etiquette. Most importantly, as a player you should make sure your high denomination chips are clearly visible and not hidden behind chips of lesser denomination, not to mention off the table. Your opponent should easily be able to see how much you're playing with, since this information is vital when deciding how to play.
Bluffing is part of poker's geatness, cheating is not!
