Can I Avoid AA Suckouts
Top 3 Beginner Rooms
I play the tournament great, making mostly great reads. Then it gets down to 3 handed, so the next person who goes out will have gone out on the bubble. Blinds are 75/150, button has about 1800, SB has about 4900 and I have about 2200 in the BB. I get dealt Aces. The button, a fairly weak player, raises to 450 total, the SB folds and I call, figuring I'll check and trap him for his chips on the flop as long as it isn't a terrible one.
The flop comes QQQ. I'm feeling good having just flopped the best possible full. I check, he bets about 300, I just call. Turn is a 3, I check, he checks. River is the T. I bet 400, he raises to 900, leaving himself with practically nothing so I set him in. Sure enough, he flips over the QT.
That's poker.
Did I misplay this hand? The blinds were big, I think smooth calling pre-flop was a reasonable play. Didn't wanna scare him off. If I go all in he might fold, if I minraise he might call but I'm less likely to win anything on the flop. Then, when the flop came and there was only one card to beat me, I think it was perfectly reasonable play. Any thoughts?

Answer:
Hi Eric
You managed to get all your chips into the middle with AA, which is a great result, so indeed you made "a reasonable" play. But I think you know that already. When the blinds are big in a S'n'G, players usually choose a hand and go for it. So even if you had chosen to raise pre-flop, chances are that the money would have ended up in the middle anyway.
