Button position in heads-up play
Hi!
Great site. This is kind of another heads-up big blind question. Although a little different.
If you have 3 runners, and the person on the button is eliminated. The person on his/her right is the big blind. After the elimination, the button goes towards the eliminated's left. This means that this person is now the dealer/small blind, correct?
Does this mean, the person who was the original big blind. Is big blind once again?
Michael/Thanks.

First of all we must make a diffrence between online poker and live poker. Because in live poker when you play headsup, the big blind has usually the button but in Internet poker the small blind has the button. Anyway, to answer your question: No, the same player should never have the bigblind twice in a row.
But it's a diffcult situation and the player that previosly had the small blind is now the big blind and has the button. The player that had the big blind is now the small blind. Now comes the tricky part, in the very next pot, the same player keeps the button! But is now small blind and the other player is of course the big blind. Now everything is right and from now on the small blind will have the button.
