KK Loses To 22

This was crushing. It was in a 10$ buy-in hold 'em tournament. Winner take all except one buy-in to second. 7 players. Buy-ins had it up to 90 for the winner and 10 for second place.

I had to rebuy twice, but finally got a decent stack. I became about even with two other players on the table. The chips moved back and forth, but it was even.

In the heads-up, I was way down. Probably 30 - 70. I went all-in on A5o to try and bluff out what was a fairly large pot. My opponent had AK. Oh my. This is not the bad beat, though. I hit a 5 on the turn and even out the chips. That's a pretty bad beat, when outs are considered.

An even worse beat came next hand, however. I was dealt KK. In heads-up, I knew that KK is the heavenly father. Now, he went all-in. He was still about 10 or so dollars ahead of me, so it would force me in. The flop was 7-9-9, and he went in post-flop. I read him and determined he did not have the nine. I was certain of this. I called.

He had pocket 2's and flopped a 2 on the turn. Ouch.

A taste of my own medicine, I guess. It didn't ease the pain, though.
