Acting Out of Turn
Two players are left in the game. Player one raises and I'm thinking what to do. Player one gets distracted and thinks I have called. He opens his cards. Is his hand dead?

Hi Dave
If you play a tournament, your opponent's hand is definitely dead. You are not allowed to turn your hand over unless the river is called or you are all in on an earlier street. In cash-games, however, the rules may vary, but usually the exposed hand is considered dead. But on the other hand, it's not really an advantage to show a hand so the rule may seem a bit silly to be honest, at least when the hand is heads up and no third party can benefit from the situation.

Clark Jensen
